SU's Carlton Jones takes first place at Bayou Sales Challenge
Â鶹´«Ã½ senior Carlton Jones brought home the first place award in the “Pressure Round Championship” at the Bayou Sales Challenge held on April 11-12 at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
The Pressure Round is a 10-minute mock interview in which a student has to make a proposal to a company on solutions that best fit their needs. The Pressure Round is for students who did not make it to the semi-finals but still are given a second chance to compete.
Jones, a finance major, said he was able to pull himself together after failing to make the semi-finals. “It felt good to win because I didn’t do well in the first two rounds. I got advice from my mentor, Toni Jackson, studied my client more and made myself comfortable.”
Nineteen students from Â鶹´«Ã½, Xavier, Nicholls State, LSU and the University of Lafayette competed in the two-day competition where the students worked as sale representatives for Automatic Data Process Company.
