Â鶹´«Ã½ to host virtual Louisiana gubernatorial forum on Sept. 19

Moderating the forum will be student leaders from the four degree-granting campuses of the System — Â鶹´«Ã½ and A&M College, Â鶹´«Ã½ Law Center, Â鶹´«Ã½ at New Orleans, and Â鶹´«Ã½ Shreveport.

The Â鶹´«Ã½ System was created in 1974 by constitutional mandate, which fashioned it into the nation’s only historically black 1890 Land-Grant University System.  Presently, the System is composed of five institutions:  Â鶹´«Ã½ and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge (est. 1880), Â鶹´«Ã½ Law Center (est. 1947), Â鶹´«Ã½ at New Orleans (est. 1956), Â鶹´«Ã½ at Shreveport (est. 1964), and the Â鶹´«Ã½ Cooperative Extension Program (est. 1972), which became the fifth component of the System in 2001 and is now named Â鶹´«Ã½ Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
