Three finalists chosen in Â鶹´«Ã½ President-Chancellor Search
The Â鶹´«Ã½ System President-Chancellor Search Committee today announced three finalists for the position of president of the Â鶹´«Ã½ System and chancellor of Â鶹´«Ã½ and A&M College. The decision was made after virtual interviews with five semi-finalists on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19.
The three finalists are:
- Laurence Alexander, chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
- Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University in New Orleans
- Dennis Shields, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Platteville
This is a very important matter for the Â鶹´«Ã½ System and Â鶹´«Ã½ and A&M College,” said Alfred Harrell, co-chair of the committee. “We are excited about moving forward with this process.”
The finalists will visit Southern’s Baton Rouge campus on Feb. 1-3 for a series of meetings with stakeholders, including the Â鶹´«Ã½ System Board of Supervisors, employees, students, and alumni. The schedule of events for the February stakeholder meetings will be provided later this week.
