Outreach

The Office of Government Contracting Services sponsors a Math, Science and Reading Summer Enrichment Camp. Entering its 9th year of Extreme Instruction in STEM areas, 4 weeks during the summer, students have an opportunity to participate in several projects that allow them to utilize green science "by, reducing carbon footprints and exploring alternative forms of energy." A key component of the science program study is engaging students in hands-on activities that will help to recreate real-life experiences that occur in the environment using four key thrusts:
- Renewable vs. Non-Renewable Energy
- Utilization of Green Science
- Power and Potential of Wind Energy
- Exploring forms Bio Energy
- Mathematics/Engineering applications to sustainable energy
In the newly created Science Zone, kids will explore ways to utilize Bioproducts to produce Energy. The Science Zone is supported by: The USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, through a collaboration with the LSU Ag Center. For more information and to apply visit: www.campcees.com
