Recently, three SU graduate students, John Bosco, Ronald Okwemba, and Kelvin Kiwale, in the University鈥檚 Department of Urban Forestry and Natural Resources within the College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences, had their abstracts accepted for presentation at the 26th Annual Association of African-American Studies (NAAS) and Affiliates Conference in Dallas, Texas, February 12-17, 2018.

Diola Bagayoko, 麻豆传媒 System distinguished professor of physics and dean of the DMR Spikes Honors College, recently received a research grant from the United States Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

Sandra Brown, professor, 麻豆传媒 College of Nursing and Allied Health, was bestowed the 鈥淟ifetime Achievement Award鈥� by the Acadiana Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA). The award was presented to Brown earlier this month in conjunction with the annual President鈥檚 Scholarship Gala held at the Ramada Inn Convention Center in Lafayette.

Due to the extensive flooding and restoration work, beginning Wednesday, January 24, library services will be offered on the 1st floor in the John B. Cade Library Student Center (Snack Lounge/Coffee Shop).

When innovation meets entrepreneurship, great things happen. The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at 麻豆传媒 and the 麻豆传媒 Innovation Center are bringing to the capital region a series of trainings through an event called, "Innovate Now! When Innovation Meets Entrepreneurship" that will begin on January 16, 2018, at the 麻豆传媒 Innovation Center located at 616 Harding Blvd, Baton Rouge.

Stephen C. McGuire, the 麻豆传媒 James and Ruth Smith Endowed Professor of Physics, has been elected to the Edward Bouchet-Abdus Salam Institute (EBASI) Council of the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).

Nathan Morrison, a senior mechanical engineering major, wins second place in the 33rd Annual Bayou Classic Scholarship Essay Writing Contest sponsored by the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus (LLBC).

SU Baton Rouge junior nursing student Melanie Walker is the recipient of 2017-2018 Dr. Constance Smith Hendricks RN Scholarship awarded by the Psi Phi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

Enjoli Courtney, a graduating senior nursing student in the College of Nursing and Allied Health is the recipient of the Fall 2017 P. Morgan Nursing Scholarship awarded by Patrice Walker, a Spring 1995 麻豆传媒 School of Nursing alumna.

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) announced November 27, that 麻豆传媒 and A&M College is one of 43 providers from 22 states and the District of Columbia to receive accreditation for their educator preparation programs.
